Fourth at the Ford

  • Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum 303 Pearl Street Northwest Grand Rapids, MI, 49504 United States (map)

Come celebrate Independence Day and America’s 250 Birthday at the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum!

Join us on Saturday, July 4, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. for a day filled with history and patriotic fun. Admission to the entire Museum, including our new "Waltzing with the Queen" and Northwest Ordinance exhibits, is completely free.

You will meet figures from America’s past like John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, and Frederick Douglass, and hear history come to life through reenactments.

Visitors can also explore patriotic artwork done by Michigan artists, including ArtPrize winner Anni Crouter and the award-winning quilt "Our Family Honor" by R. Roos-Sullivan.

From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., children can create patriotic bead bracelets and keychains, and complimentary American flags will be available while supplies last.

Hungry? Local food trucks, including @patty_matters, @furniturecitycreamery, @twobonesbbq, Crepes by the Lakes - Food Truck and @pilarsempanadas will be on-site beginning at 11 a.m., with outdoor seating and tents available on the Museum grounds.

Bring your family and friends to the Fourth at the Ford celebration and let's commemorate this historic milestone as a community!
